Bénin: le président Patrice Talon choisit le patron des renseignements comme envoyé spécial en Haïti.-

Le président béninois, Patrice Talon, a récemment pris une décision importante en nommant Pamphile Zomahoun au poste d’envoyé spécial du Bénin en Haïti. Cette nomination, annoncée le mercredi 17 avril, est une étape significative dans le cadre de l’engagement du Bénin à fournir 2000 hommes pour la future force multinationale de soutien à la sécurité en Haïti (MMSS).

L’objectif de cette nomination est de renforcer la mise en œuvre du projet de déploiement des forces béninoises à Port-au-Prince.

Bien que les détails précis de la mission de Zomahoun en Haïti n’aient pas été divulgués dans le relevé du conseil des ministres annonçant sa nomination, il est clair que sa première priorité sera de coordonner l’arrivée des 2000 militaires béninois. Malgré l’annonce de cette nomination, le calendrier précis du déploiement reste encore inconnu. Cependant, des sources indiquent que le financement est en cours et que les principaux acteurs de l’opération préparent une réunion imminente. Pamphile Zomahoun, âgé de 53 ans et colonel de la gendarmerie, prendra ses fonctions rapidement.
