L’administration Biden met fin au Humanitarian Parole : un avenir incertain pour les bénéficiaires.-

Un coup dur se profile à l’horizon pour les bénéficiaires du programme Humanitarian Parole de l’administration Biden. Selon des informations rapportées par le Miami Herald, l’administration américaine aurait décidé de ne pas reconduire ce programme, qui expire officiellement en janvier 2025. Cette décision marquerait la fin d’une initiative qui a permis à de nombreux ressortissants étrangers, notamment des Haïtiens, de vivre temporairement aux États-Unis dans un cadre légal.

En effet, à partir du 6 janvier 2025, tout bénéficiaire haïtien de ce programme, qui désire continuer à résider sur le sol américain, devra trouver un autre moyen pour régulariser sa situation. Le journal précise que sans cette démarche, ces personnes seront contraintes de quitter le pays. Cette information, provenant de sources au sein du gouvernement américain, est un coup de tonnerre pour ceux qui espéraient une prolongation de ce programme d’assistance.

Le programme Humanitarian Parole avait été mis en place pour offrir une protection temporaire à certaines personnes vulnérables, leur permettant ainsi de rester aux États-Unis pour des raisons humanitaires urgentes. Cependant, cette décision de ne pas renouveler le programme pourrait mettre en péril la situation de milliers de bénéficiaires, particulièrement les Haïtiens, pour qui cette mesure a été un recours vital face à la situation de leur pays d’origine.

Alors que l’expiration du programme approche, les incertitudes grandissent pour les bénéficiaires, qui se trouvent à la croisée des chemins : régulariser leur situation ou faire face à l’obligation de quitter les États-Unis.
