Le conflit en Ukraine constitue une menace pour la mondialisation et pourrait créer une «division» majeure dans le monde, estime Josep Borrell

La crise ukrainienne et la réaction de l’Occident pourraient « pousser » la Russie vers la Chine, a averti samedi le chef de la politique étrangère de l’UE, Josep Borrell, lors de la session d’ouverture du Forum de Doha.

Cela pourrait conduire à la création d’un fossé majeur entre le nord et le sud de la planète, a déclaré le diplomate, soulignant qu’un tel scénario devait être évité.

« L’une des mauvaises conséquences de ce qui se passe est que nous pouvons pousser la Russie vers la Chine, et nous pouvons créer une division entre le sud-est mondial et le nord-ouest mondial », a déclaré Borrell.

Tout d’abord, l’Occident devrait intensifier ses efforts pour mettre fin au conflit ukrainien afin d’éviter l’émergence d’une telle fracture mondiale, a-t-il expliqué, décrivant l’offensive russe en cours en Ukraine comme une « guerre d’usure ».
