Le 14 août 2023 à 11h01, la Directrice de Cabinet du Président malgache, Romy Andrianarisoa, ainsi que le ressortissant français Philippe Tabuteau, ont été appréhendés au Royaume-Uni suite à des soupçons de corruption en relation avec l’octroi de licences d’exploitation à la société minière britannique Gemfields.
L’Agence nationale anti-criminalité (NCA) a divulgué que Romy Andrianarisoa, âgée de 46 ans, et Philippe Tabuteau, âgé de 54 ans, sont suspectés d’avoir sollicité des pots-de-vin en échange de l’octroi de licences d’exploitation à Gemfields à Madagascar. L’agence britannique a émis un communiqué précisant que ces individus ont été arrêtés à Londres le jeudi précédent.
