L’ancien président de la chambre des députés, Cholzer Chancy, a été appréhendé le 22 janvier après son audition concernant le dossier de détournement de matériel au Centre national des équipements (CNE). L’arrestation a été ordonnée par le juge Al Duniel Dimanche, chargé de l’affaire.
Au cours de son instruction, Cholzer Chancy avait initialement affirmé ne pas avoir de liens familiaux au CNE. Cependant, le juge a découvert qu’il avait menti, révélant qu’Emmanuel Olivier, le neveu de Chancy, occupait un poste de responsabilité au CNE à la demande de l’ex-président de la chambre des députés. Olivier avait également mis à disposition plusieurs équipements pour Cholzer Chancy, une information confirmée par plusieurs employés du CNE lors de leurs témoignages devant le juge.
Cholzer Chancy, maintenant en détention, passera sa première nuit au Pénitencier national.
