Haïti : le ministère de la Culture annonce la création de cinq prix nationaux

Le Ministère de la Culture et de la Communication a annoncé la création de cinq prix nationaux destinés à valoriser la production intellectuelle, artistique et médiatique en Haïti. L’information a été rendue publique dans un communiqué en date du 4 mai 2026.
Selon le ministère, ces distinctions concernent plusieurs domaines de la vie culturelle et intellectuelle. Il s’agit du Prix national Jean Price-Mars de la pensée haïtienne, du Prix national Liliane Pierre-Paul de la liberté de la presse, du Prix national Frankétienne de la création haïtienne, du Prix national Félix Morisseau-Leroy de littérature d’expression créole et du Prix national Nemours Jean-Baptiste de la performance musicale.
Les autorités précisent qu’un jury sera constitué pour chaque catégorie, dans le respect de la parité entre hommes et femmes, sous la présidence d’un représentant de l’État et en concertation avec les partenaires concernés.
Les prix seront décernés chaque année, le premier lundi du mois de décembre. Les modalités d’attribution ainsi que les dotations associées seront définies ultérieurement par le ministère.
Dans ce communiqué, le ministère indique que cette initiative s’inscrit dans une démarche visant à honorer des personnalités ayant marqué la vie nationale et à promouvoir l’excellence dans les différents secteurs concernés.
Le document est signé par le ministre de la Culture et de la Communication, Emmanuel Ménard, à Port-au-Prince.
