Dans une note de presse, des évêques catholiques appelle à trouver une solution de sagesse qui tienne compte des intérêts supérieurs de la nation et de la défense du bien commun. Elle demande que la conscience citoyenne soit mise en branle pour trouver une solution patriotique, « ne serait- qu’au prix de grands sacrifices».
Les évêques lancent un cri d’alarme devant l’effondrement de la barque du pays. Ils appellent à un réveil patriotique en vue de prendre toute la mesure du danger qui menace la nation haïtienne. « C’est le moment d’unir nos forces et nos intelligences pour sauver notre barque commune, Haïti, lit-on dans la note signée par notamment Monseigneur Pierre André Dumas et Monseigneur Launay Saturné.
Les évêques déplorent les pertes en vies humaines et en biens matériels enregistrées dans le cadre des voyages clandestins et lors des manifestations organisées pour réclamer le départ de Jovenel Moïse.
