Cette prouesse a permis aux chercheurs de reconstituer la barrière cornéenne manquante et de restaurer partiellement, voire totalement, la vision chez les patients traités.

Des Résultats Concluants et Durables

L’étude, qui a été menée sur quatre patients atteints de LSCD avancé, a produit des résultats significatifs. Parmi les patients, trois ont constaté une amélioration visuelle durable, et un quatrième a retrouvé temporairement la vue. Ces résultats, bien que préliminaires, montrent que le traitement par cellules souches reprogrammées pourrait offrir une solution viable et à long terme pour de nombreux patients souffrant de cécité liée aux troubles cornéens.
