Des chercheurs ont fait une découverte fascinante en utilisant des technologies avancées pour révéler des tatouages vieux de 1 200 ans sur des momies de la culture Chancay, une civilisation précolombienne du Pérou.
En utilisant une méthode de fluorescence stimulée par laser, les scientifiques ont mis au jour des motifs complexes qui étaient invisibles à l’œil nu. Ces dessins, cachés par des siècles de dégradation, comprennent des motifs géométriques finement détaillés qui reflètent l’art caractéristique de cette civilisation.
Les chercheurs pensent que ces tatouages étaient réalisés à l’aide d’aiguilles fabriquées à partir de cactus ou d’os d’animaux, imprégnées de pigments naturels. De nombreux motifs retrouvés correspondent à ceux observés sur les poteries et les textiles Chancay, ce qui laisse supposer qu’ils avaient une profonde signification spirituelle ou sociale.
Cette percée technologique ouvre de nouvelles perspectives dans l’étude des pratiques culturelles des civilisations anciennes.
