Des hommes armés imposent la fermeture du bureau de l’EDH à Carrefour

Port-au-Prince, le 10 juin 2026 – La situation sécuritaire continue de perturber le fonctionnement des institutions publiques en Haïti. Le bureau commercial de l’Électricité d’Haïti (EDH) à Carrefour a été contraint de fermer ses portes ce mardi 9 juin après l’intervention d’hommes armés se réclamant du groupe dirigé par le chef de gang connu sous le nom de Christla.
Selon les informations disponibles, les individus armés ont fait irruption dans les locaux et ordonné l’évacuation immédiate du personnel. Aucun acte de violence physique n’a été signalé lors de l’opération, mais les employés ont dû quitter les lieux sous la menace.
L’incident a été confirmé par la Fédération des syndicats des travailleurs de l’Électricité d’Haïti (FESTREDH), qui dénonce une nouvelle atteinte au fonctionnement normal de l’entreprise publique dans un contexte marqué par l’expansion de l’influence des groupes armés dans plusieurs zones de la région métropolitaine.
Cette fermeture intervient quelques jours après la prise de contrôle de la centrale thermique de Carrefour 2, située à Thorland, par le même groupe armé. Cette installation joue un rôle important dans l’alimentation électrique de plusieurs secteurs de la capitale et de ses environs.
Face à cette nouvelle escalade, les inquiétudes grandissent quant à la capacité de l’EDH à poursuivre ses opérations dans certaines zones sous forte influence des gangs. Plusieurs observateurs craignent également des conséquences sur la distribution de l’électricité ainsi que sur les services administratifs offerts aux abonnés.
Jusqu’à présent, ni la direction générale de l’EDH ni les autorités gouvernementales n’ont communiqué officiellement sur les mesures envisagées pour reprendre le contrôle des installations concernées et assurer la sécurité des employés.
Cette nouvelle démonstration de force des groupes armés illustre une fois de plus les défis auxquels font face les institutions publiques haïtiennes dans un climat d’insécurité persistante qui continue d’affecter les services essentiels à la population.
