Plus d’une semaine de mobilisation pour une manifestation contre le PM Ariel Henry devant la primature le 20 juillet a échoué. Des leaders d’opinion et des politiciens frustrés ont appelé à une mobilisation massive pour demander la démission du Premier Ministre, mais leur mouvement a été contrecarré par une impressionnante contre-mobilisation.
Les partisans d’Ariel Henry étaient 95 fois plus nombreux que les manifestants des organisations socio-politiques « Debloke Ayiti » et « Rezistans pou Ayiti », qui ont exigé son départ. Malgré les critiques et les appels à la démission, Ariel Henry maintient fermement sa position, soutenu par une foule engagée menée par des personnalités influentes du pouvoir.
Un écho du passé : Remontons 20 ans en arrière, à l’époque de l’ancien Président Jean Bertrand Aristide, qui a lui aussi fait face à une opposition farouche entre 2001 et 2003.
Les partisans d’Ariel Henry, comprenant notamment le directeur de la Loterie Nationale et le responsable de la compagnie Dignité, se sont rassemblés devant la primature pour soutenir leur Premier Ministre. Des centaines de motos ont organisé un sit-in pour contrer le petit groupe qui exigeait sa démission. Le directeur de la Loterie Nationale, Jean Ouanch, affirme que « Ariel ne quittera pas le pouvoir avant l’organisation des élections », soulignant ainsi le rôle essentiel d’Ariel Henry dans le processus électoral.
