Cependant, il convient de noter que les importations américaines ne couvriraient qu’une fraction de la demande énergétique de l’Europe.
L’accord devrait être officiellement annoncé plus tard vendredi par le président américain Joe Biden et la présidente de la Commission européenne Ursula von der Leyen.
Les parties sont convenues d’organiser un groupe de travail dédié au suivi des besoins énergétiques de l’Europe. Selon des sources, l’accord prévoit également une augmentation des expéditions de GNL aux États-Unis en 2023.
