Dans une déclaration frappante sur son compte Twitter, l’avocat André Michel, figure influente du Secteur démocratique et populaire (SDP), a exprimé sa profonde inquiétude face aux accusations de corruption visant certains membres du Conseil présidentiel de transition (CPT). Ces allégations, révélées par le Nouvelliste le jeudi 25 juillet 2024, ont été transmises à l’Unité de Lutte Contre la Corruption (ULCC), plongeant le Conseil dans une crise de crédibilité.
« Je suis profondément troublé par les accusations de corruption qui visent certains membres du Conseil présidentiel de transition », a déclaré André Michel. « D’une gravité extrême, ces accusations transformées en dossier de corruption ont déjà éclaboussé l’image de l’ensemble du Conseil. Cette affaire doit être clarifiée dans la plus grande célérité. »
L’avocat appelle à une prise de responsabilité collective : « Du Conseil présidentiel de transition, en passant par les concernés, les parties prenantes et jusqu’à la CARICOM, chacun, en ce qui le concerne, devra assumer sa part de responsabilité. Au-delà des petits calculs personnels et partisans, il y va de la crédibilité de ce processus de transition dont le succès est indispensable pour la stabilité et le développement du pays. »
André Michel insiste sur l’importance d’une transparence totale et d’une réaction rapide pour surmonter cette impasse, soulignant l’impact crucial de cette affaire sur l’avenir politique et économique d’Haïti. « J’ai pris cette position personnelle de principe en attendant que les faits et les circonstances de l’affaire permettent au pays de franchir cette impasse. »
