Une atmosphère de répression politique s’installe en Haïti alors que le Conseil présidentiel de transition lance une véritable chasse aux sorcières contre l’ancien gouvernement de facto, prenant des mesures radicales pour éliminer toute trace de l’administration précédente.
Dans une lettre adressée au Premier Ministre par intérim, Michel Patrick Boisvert, datée de ce lundi 13 mai 2024, le Conseil présidentiel a exigé le retrait immédiat de toutes les nominations effectuées à partir du 25 avril 2024. Cette décision draconienne vise spécifiquement plus d’une quarantaine de personnes, dont des représentants diplomatiques de haut rang comme Geneviève Louis-Jeune au Suriname et Alix Richard à l’Organisation des États Américains (OEA).

Elle s’inscrit dans une stratégie visant à effacer toute trace de l’administration précédente, sans égard pour la justice ou la légalité.
Il est à souligner que cette répression politique intervient dans un contexte où le nouveau gouvernement d’Ariel Henry est confronté à d’énormes défis en matière de sécurité, d’économie et de gouvernance. Plutôt que de concentrer ses efforts sur la résolution de ces problèmes urgents, le Conseil présidentiel semble préférer s’engager dans une chasse aux sorcières politiquement motivée.
Cette politique de répression politique menée par le Conseil présidentiel de transition est non seulement rétrograde, mais elle risque également de compromettre davantage la stabilité politique et sociale d’Haïti.
