Crise politique : 49 morts par balle en moins d’un mois, selon CE-JILAP

Les manifestations en cascade dans tout le pays pour exiger le départ de Jovenel Moïse accroissent la recrudescence de l’insécurité. Pas moins de 49 personnes ont été tuées par balle du 16 septembre au 23 octobre 2019, a confié au journal Jocelyn Colas Noël de la Commission épiscopale justice et paix (CE-JILAP).

Madame Noël affirme que son organisation, qui ne collecte pas de données sur les blessés par balle, a recueilli très peu d’informations sur ce qui se passe dans les quartiers contrôlés par les gangs armés comme Grand-Ravine, Ti-Bwa ou Decayette. Ce qui pourrait grossir considérablement les chiffres sur les cas de mort violente, a ajouté la représentante de la CE-JILAP.
Aucune institution, pas même la Police nationale d’Haïti (PNH), ne dispose de chiffres exacts sur le nombre de victimes par balle depuis les derniers événements de «peyi lòk». Le dernier bilan de l’Inspection générale de la PNH remonte au 2 octobre et faisait état de cinq morts et plus d’une vingtaine de blessés par balle. Le dysfonctionnement des hôpitaux, notamment de l’hôpital général en raison des professionnels de santé impayés depuis plus de 3 mois, des problème d’intrants et d’insalubrité ne permet pas d’établir avec certitude le nombre de victimes.
