Cet événement revêt une signification profonde, puisqu’Haïti a été élu à l’un des postes les plus prestigieux au sein de l’UNESCO, pour la première fois en 77 ans depuis son adhésion.
L’impact d’Haïti à l’UNESCO au fil des ans ne peut être sous-estimé, et Dominique Dupuy a été une championne de cette cause.
