Au moins un policier a failli être renversé par le véhicule de cette conductrice dont le père est tristement célèbre pour ses nombreuses exactions en Haiti.
Quelques minutes plus tard, une patrouille du Commissariat arriva sur les lieux et le policier victime descendit du véhicule pour aller raisonner la dame qui l’a bousculé et giflé au moins 3 fois sans aucune reaction de la part du policier. J’assistais énervé a la scène me demandant, en ma qualité d’inspecteur de police et étudiant en 2e année de droit, qu’adviendrait- il si la conductrice était de la couche défavorisée avec la peau noire? Aurait-elle eu le même traitement de la part de la police?
Peu de temps après l’arrestation de madame Melissa Petit, son père dépêcha un juge de paix du nom de Guerrier pour aller s’enquérir de la situation et ordonner la libération de la prévenue. N’était-ce la vigilance de certains policiers et du Commissaire de police, la dame aurait été libérée par le juge de Paix qui a déclaré avoir reçu l’ordre du chef du Parquet de Port-au-Prince. Cette situation risque de créer des frustrations énormes de nature à démobiliser les policiers. Le Commissaire du Gouvernement doit assumer ses responsabilités en faisant juger la dame pour son forfait car son acte est grave.
L’argent et le pouvoir politique ne doivent pas prendre le pas sur la justice. Les juges de paix et les commissaires du Gouvernement doivent cesser de se comporter en Restavek de Toto Borlette. Que la justice soit une pour tous.
