Le chanteur Pharrell Williams va ouvrir un hôtel "tropical" aux Bahamas

Un hôtel où la nature envahira l’espace : c’est ce que promet, rapporte CNN, Pharrell Williams qui a annoncé la construction d’un nouveau complexe hôtelier dans les Bahamas en collaboration avec David Grutman, un entrepreneur de Miamispécialisé dans l’hôtellerie et la vie nocturne. Le futur hôtel, qui ouvrira ses portes en janvier 2024, s’appelera “Somewhere Else”. Il proposera à la réservation pas moins de 400 chambres et suites, plusieurs restaurants et bars, ainsi que des bungalows avec des studios d’enregistrement sur l’île de Paradise Island connue pour ses tours roses et ses nombreuses attractions marines.

Pharrell Williams et David Grutman n’en sont pas à leur première collaboration. Les deux hommes ont déjà ouvert un restaurant à Miami et un hôtel, à l’ambiance tropicale également. Mais cette fois, les deux partenaires souhaitent faire les choses différemment. « Lorsque vous arrivez, vous traversez un jardin paysager dense, et ce jardin se poursuivra en quelque sorte sous et à travers le bâtiment », raconte l’un des designers, Shawn Sullivan, dont les propos sont rapportés par CNN.

Le véritable luxe réside dans ce que l’on vit

Pharrell Williams vante, quant à lui, un concept de « modernisme tropical » ré-imaginé pour ce nouvel espace et plus contemporain. Sans boîte de nuit, le futur complexe se situera, pour son prix, dans un entre-deux, ne correspondant ni au plus abordable, ni au plus luxueux, commente Sullivan pour qui le mot luxe est en pleine reconsidération.

Si autrefois ce mot correspondait au nombre d’accessoires, la superficie en m2, ou encore à la qualité du marbre, explique ce dernier à CNN  » le véritable luxe réside désormais dans ce que l’on vit. Entre la capacité de David (Grutman) à créer des lieux énergiques et mémorables et l’accent mis par Pharrell (Williams) sur le bien-être et la pleine conscience, l’équilibre est parfait”.
