Le lundi 20 novembre, la capitale haïtienne, Port-au-Prince, accueille le président de l’Assemblée Générale de l’ONU, Dennis Francis, pour une visite éclair de 24 heures. Cette démarche s’inscrit dans le cadre d’une mission visant à délivrer un message de paix et de solidarité avant l’arrivée prochaine des troupes kényanes, dont le déploiement en Haïti a reçu l’approbation du Conseil de sécurité de l’ONU.

L’objectif principal de cette visite est de renforcer les liens diplomatiques et de promouvoir la stabilité dans la région. Dennis Francis cherche à souligner l’importance de la coopération internationale pour résoudre les défis complexes auxquels Haïti fait face, et à encourager un dialogue constructif entre les différentes parties prenantes.

Au cours de sa journée chargée, le président de l’Assemblée Générale rencontrera plusieurs personnalités influentes du pays. Parmi elles, le Premier Ministre Ariel Henry, Mme Manigat, ainsi que Marjory Michel, une femme influente du Secteur Démocratique et Populaire (SDP).
