Haïti : l’OCNH appelle l’ONU à faire de la lutte contre la corruption une priorité face à la crise sécuritaire

Port-au-Prince – Le Directeur exécutif de l’Organisation des Citoyens pour une Nouvelle Haïti (OCNH), Me Camille Occius, a exhorté la communauté internationale à placer la lutte contre la corruption au cœur des efforts visant à rétablir la sécurité en Haïti. Intervenant le 25 juin 2026 devant le Conseil de sécurité des Nations unies, il a estimé que l’impunité et les réseaux de corruption constituent l’un des principaux moteurs de l’insécurité qui frappe le pays.
Au cours de son intervention, le défenseur des droits humains a dénoncé les liens étroits entre corruption, criminalité organisée et violences armées. Selon lui, aucune stratégie durable de stabilisation ne pourra produire des résultats sans un démantèlement des mécanismes de corruption qui fragilisent les institutions publiques et favorisent l’expansion des groupes criminels.
Me Camille Occius a plaidé pour un renforcement de la coopération entre les Nations unies, les autorités haïtiennes et les organisations de la société civile afin de soutenir les réformes nécessaires. Il a également demandé l’adoption de garanties juridiques en faveur des lanceurs d’alerte et des défenseurs des droits humains, ainsi qu’un accompagnement accru des magistrats engagés dans la lutte contre la corruption et la criminalité.
À l’initiative de la Lettonie, en partenariat avec le Panama et l’Office des Nations unies contre la drogue et le crime (ONUDC), le responsable de l’OCNH a également pris part à une séance de travail consacrée au renforcement de l’État de droit. À cette occasion, il a réaffirmé que la lutte contre la corruption demeure une condition indispensable au rétablissement de la sécurité, de la gouvernance démocratique et de la confiance des citoyens envers les institutions.
Le vendredi 26 juin 2026, lors d’une réunion avec l’expert indépendant des Nations unies sur la situation des droits humains en Haïti, William O’Neill, ainsi qu’avec plusieurs agences onusiennes, Me Occius a de nouveau insisté sur la nécessité de mettre fin à l’impunité et de démanteler les réseaux de corruption pour réduire durablement les violences qui secouent le pays.
Cette rencontre a également permis à l’Organisation des Citoyens pour une Nouvelle Haïti de présenter les résultats de plusieurs projets mis en œuvre avec l’appui du Fonds des Nations unies pour la consolidation de la paix en Haïti, des initiatives destinées à renforcer l’État de droit, promouvoir la bonne gouvernance et soutenir les efforts de prévention des conflits.
