Après des mois d’attente et d’incertitude, Ousmane Sonko et son bras droit, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, ont enfin retrouvé la liberté. Le leader du Pastef et son fidèle compagnon étaient détenus depuis des mois, faisant face à des accusations graves qui ont secoué le pays.

L’arrestation du maire de Ziguinchor remonte au vendredi 28 juillet 2023, où il a été appréhendé et inculpé trois jours plus tard. De même, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, qui avait jeté son chapeau dans la course présidentielle, a été privé de sa liberté depuis près d’un an. Son arrestation en mi-avril 2023, consécutive à la publication d’un post controversé sur les magistrats, l’a maintenu derrière les barreaux pendant des mois.

Cependant, l’espoir est réapparu avec l’annonce récente de leur libération, confirmée par leurs proches. Cette décision intervient suite à l’adoption d’une loi d’amnistie par l’Assemblée Nationale, offrant ainsi une bouffée d’air frais à ces figures politiques marquantes.

Cette libération suscite non seulement un soulagement pour les partisans du Pastef, mais également des questions sur le futur politique du pays.
