Port-au-Prince (LI)– Le mardi 6 août 2024, le Premier Ministre haïtien, Dr. Garry Conille, accompagné du Ministre de l’Éducation Nationale et de la Formation Professionnelle, Antoine Augustin, s’est rendu au Collège Canado-Haïtien. Cette visite s’inscrivait dans le cadre du déroulement des examens d’État du Nouveau Secondaire IV.

Cette initiative du Premier Ministre visait à réaffirmer l’engagement de son gouvernement auprès des écoliers, qu’il considère comme l’avenir du pays. « Nous sommes ici pour montrer notre soutien à ces jeunes et pour réaffirmer notre détermination à renforcer le système éducatif haïtien », a déclaré Dr. Garry Conille.

Le gouvernement a fixé la rentrée scolaire pour la nouvelle année académique au 1er octobre 2024, avec pour thème « Restaurer l’autorité de l’école ». La rentrée administrative et des enseignants est prévue pour le lundi 16 septembre 2024. Selon le calendrier scolaire 2024-2025, un total de 940 heures est programmé pour l’enseignement fondamental et 1128 heures pour le secondaire. L’année académique comprendra 188 journées de classe et 11 jours de congé.

Pour accompagner les parents et poursuivre les grands chantiers éducatifs, le gouvernement haïtien, par le biais du Ministère de l’Éducation Nationale, a annoncé plusieurs actions prioritaires à court et moyen terme. Parmi celles-ci, on compte un soutien financier de 15 à 20 mille gourdes pour 280 000 parents dans divers départements, la distribution de manuels scolaires pour les classes de 1ère à 4ème du premier cycle de l’École Fondamentale, ainsi que la distribution de kits scolaires, d’uniformes et de bancs.

Le gouvernement prévoit également de renforcer et de multiplier les cantines scolaires dans les établissements, de former les enseignants pour quatre nouvelles matières de l’École Fondamentale (Éducation Esthétique et Artistique, Éducation Physique et Sportive, Éducation à la Technologie et aux Activités Productives, et Éducation à la Citoyenneté), de valider et d’implémenter le Cadre d’orientation curriculaire 2024-2054, de réorganiser les écoles nationales et lycées, de libérer les espaces scolaires occupés par des déplacés, de renforcer la gouvernance des Directions Départementales d’Éducation dans un cadre de micro planification et de carte scolaire, et de mettre en œuvre la Politique Nationale de la Petite Enfance.

De plus, il est prévu d’augmenter l’offre scolaire avec l’inauguration de 17 nouvelles écoles publiques et la réhabilitation de 111 lycées et écoles nationales, de régulariser le statut des personnels enseignant et administratif, et de mettre en place l’Agence Nationale de l’Enseignement Supérieur et de la Recherche Scientifique (ANESRS).
