1 min de lecture – Au Rwanda, le gouvernement va lancer cette semaine, un programme de 131 millions $, pour la construction de plus de 2 000 logements abordables à Kigali. C’est ce que rapporte le site d’informations New Times, citant des sources officielles.
Le nouveau programme, qui sera développé à Nyamirambo, dans le district de Nyarugenge (province de Kigali) devrait permettre de construire des bâtiments communautaires, des parcs publics, des magasins et une place de marché. Au total, environ 2 800 logements devraient sortir de terre à la fin du projet, pour accueillir environ 14 000 personnes en plus de créer des centaines d’emplois temporaires et permanents.
Grâce à ce projet, les autorités espèrent combler le déficit de logements auquel fait face la ville de Kigali et estimé à environ 30 000 unités d’habitations par an. A cet effet, des mesures devraient être prises pour minimiser les coûts de production afin de maintenir les prix de vente bas.
« Les unités de logement seront abordables pour le revenu moyen d’un Rwandais moyen.» ont indiqué les promoteurs du projet dans un communiqué relayé par le New Times.
