Rwanda : un projet de 131 millions $ pour construire plus de 2 000 logements abordables à Kigali

 – Au Rwanda, le gouvernement va lancer cette semaine, un programme de 131 millions $, pour la construction de plus de 2 000 logements abordables à Kigali. C’est ce que rapporte le site d’informations New Times, citant des sources officielles.

Le nouveau programme, qui sera développé à Nyamirambo, dans le district de Nyarugenge (province de Kigali) devrait permettre de construire des bâtiments communautaires, des parcs publics, des magasins et une place de marché. Au total, environ 2 800 logements devraient sortir de terre à la fin du projet, pour accueillir environ 14 000 personnes en plus de créer des centaines d’emplois temporaires et permanents.

Grâce à ce projet, les autorités espèrent combler le déficit de logements auquel fait face la ville de Kigali et estimé à environ 30 000 unités d’habitations par an. A cet effet, des mesures devraient être prises pour minimiser les coûts de production afin de maintenir les prix de vente bas.

« Les unités de logement seront abordables pour le revenu moyen d’un Rwandais moyen.» ont indiqué les promoteurs du projet dans un communiqué relayé par le New Times.

Notons que le projet sera réalisé dans le cadre du « Rugarama Park Estate » une joint-venture entre l’institution panafricaine Shelter Afrique, spécialisée dans le financement du logement, et la Banque de développement du Rwanda
