La ville équatorienne Quayaquil accueillera du 22 mars au 5 avril prochain, le championnat continental de boxe sous l’égide de la Confédération Américaine de Boxe (AMBC) avec la participation de plusieurs pays dont Haïti.
Trois boxeuses haïtiennes : Blandina Salnave (64 kg), Kathreen Sterling (52 kg) et Saintelise Jean (57 kg) défendront les couleurs du bicolore haïtien avec l’espoir de retourner au bercail avec des médailles.
En préparation depuis plusieurs jours sur la direction de l’entraineur cubain, Toledo Calvario, les boxeuses haïtiennes sont prêtes pour le tournoi à la seule condition que la Fédération haïtienne de boxe, retrouvera les 4 500 dollars américains pour les frais de voyage.
À titre de rappel, les organisateurs du tournoi ont annoncé que les trois médaillés dans chacune des catégories hommes et femmes (13 &12) gagneront respectivement 10,000, 5,000 et 2500 dollars américains.
