Colombie en crise : 100 morts, 20 000 déplacés – Le président Petro abandonnera-t-il son peuple pour une visite risquée en Haïti ?

Alors que la Colombie est plongée dans une crise majeure, marquée par des combats sanglants entre guérillas, il semble peu probable que le président Gustavo Petro maintienne son déplacement prévu en Haïti ce mercredi 22 janvier. Une telle visite serait non seulement risquée, mais aussi peu responsable face à l’urgence nationale que traverse son pays.
Depuis le 16 janvier, des affrontements violents entre l’Armée de libération nationale (ELN) et des dissidents des FARC ont fait plus de 100 morts et déplacé 20 000 personnes dans la région du Catatumbo, à la frontière avec le Venezuela. Ces combats s’inscrivent dans une guerre pour le contrôle des routes du narcotrafic, plaçant la Colombie, premier producteur mondial de cocaïne, dans une situation critique.
Face à cette crise, Gustavo Petro a décrété l’état d’urgence économique et interne, mobilisé 5 000 soldats et ordonné des mesures exceptionnelles pour venir en aide aux populations déplacées. La priorité est claire : rétablir l’ordre et protéger les citoyens dans les zones touchées.
Dans ce contexte, la perspective d’un déplacement en Haïti, un pays lui-même en proie à une profonde insécurité, soulève des questions. Haïti est actuellement marqué par une violence extrême, avec des gangs contrôlant une grande partie de la capitale, Port-au-Prince. Certaines organisations, comme le Conseil supérieur de la police (CSP), sont accusées d’avoir des liens avec ces chefs de gang, ce qui complique davantage la situation sécuritaire.
Accepter de se rendre dans un tel environnement, alors que son propre pays est en état d’urgence, donnerait l’image d’un président déconnecté des priorités nationales. Gustavo Petro, s’il est un dirigeant responsable, devrait prioriser la gestion de la crise colombienne, plutôt que d’effectuer un voyage symbolique dans un pays où il risque lui-même de ne pas être en sécurité.
Le rôle d’un président est avant tout de répondre aux besoins de son peuple, surtout en période de crise. Maintenir un tel déplacement en Haïti serait non seulement perçu comme une erreur stratégique, mais également comme un affront aux milliers de Colombiens qui souffrent actuellement des conséquences des conflits armés.

De plus, Haïti, qui traverse une situation critique en matière de sécurité, ne semble pas être un endroit approprié pour une visite officielle à ce moment. Les priorités du président colombien devraient être claires : stabiliser son pays, protéger ses citoyens et répondre à l’urgence humanitaire.
Alors que le président Gustavo Petro doit prendre une décision dans les prochaines heures, il est difficile d’imaginer qu’il choisisse de maintenir son voyage en Haïti. Une telle visite, dans un contexte aussi instable en Colombie et en Haïti, serait perçue comme absurde et irresponsable.
La Colombie attend de son président qu’il reste sur son territoire pour gérer la crise actuelle, et non qu’il se rende dans un pays en proie à une violence incontrôlable. Si Gustavo Petro souhaite rester crédible aux yeux de son peuple, il devra faire preuve de discernement et annuler cette visite.
